Personal letter

Dear recruiter,

As a Senior Test Engineer at Sokigo, I test the whole chain – from servers, security systems and APIs under the hood to what the user actually experiences. I work in both web and desktop environments on the ArcGIS platform – from widgets in ArcGIS Portal to ArcGIS Server and add-ins in ArcGIS Pro – and my goal is always the same: that what we deliver works and can be relied on.

Today my testing is AI-driven, a way of working that was introduced in our project through me. At the same time, it is important not to lose manual testing, precisely to verify the work. I mainly use Claude to test, troubleshoot and work faster and more thoroughly across the whole chain. My foundation is in classic test automation with Playwright, Cypress and Selenium WebDriver. I test APIs and verify data in SQL databases for logging, security and more, where I write SQL statements and navigate tables and views to find and verify the right data.

In Azure DevOps I test features and user stories and link bug reports to them when defects are found. I am responsible for making sure bugs are registered correctly, followed up once development has updated the service, verified and closed – with clear messages to the customer portal and in the internal release notes. In some cases Claude helps out in the same workflow.

Before moving into testing, I worked for many years as a technical writer and coordinator, including at Ericsson in Istanbul. That background means I quickly get to grips with complex systems, see the big picture and can describe a problem so that developers, customers and stakeholders understand it – a real advantage when it comes to finding, reproducing and communicating defects.

While I am fully dedicated to my work, I am also a cheerful and social person who is aware of what is happening around me. Using logical thinking, I always try to look at things rationally and arrive at the best possible solution.

I want to keep growing within testing and quality assurance, ideally in a role where I can work broadly across the whole system and help drive test automation and new ways of working forward.
